How To Style Off-The-Shoulder Dress?

The off-the-shoulder trend is one of the hottest looks of this season whether it’s a dress, or a top offering a versatile, feminine and extremely popular look. It’s the latest celebrity’s and blogger’s favorite style!

If you are a Google queen like me, then you’d love to read this interesting fact ‘ve researched online. According to the Washington Post, in the first quarter of 2016, there was a 110 percent year-over-year increase in the number of off-the-shoulder tops and dresses arriving online, along with a 218 percent boom in arrivals of cold-shoulder tops and dresses. A dramatic spike in Google searches in recent months for “off-the-shoulder” and “cold shoulder” suggests shoppers are on the hunt.

This year, off-the shoulder tops are a fashion phenomenon unlike any I’ve seen before. Although, the off-the-shoulder neckline has been popular with the world’s most stylish women for decades including Brigitte Bardot, Bianca Jagger and Jane Birkin. As for today’s generation, the very first gals that I’ve seen rock the breezy nonchalence off-the-shoulder look was last summer when Olivia Palermo, Dakota Johnson and Alexa Chung were seen wearing and today well, this trend is everywhere from smartphone’s Instagram to big screen tv’s.
Some of the celebrities looks that I have loved are Kendall Jenner in a stripped off the shoulder dress at the Fendi couture show; Jessica Biel in a long white lacy off-the-shoulder dress when she was in Los Angeles; Rooney Mara wore a 70’s inspired a black high-shine dress ( off the shoulders) on a red carpet during an award ceremony. I have also noticed her highness Duchess Kate Middleton joint the off-the-shoulder trend, wearing Barbara Casanova dress.

So, here’s how you can style your next off-the shoulder dress:

Daytime Outfit:
1. A cute floral print dress with an off-the-shoulder structure for heightened style. Wear this look with a straw hat to capture a casual chic and carefree vibe.

2. The off-the-shoulders mini dress is also a popular look to go with. It’s more of a 90’s hobo-style with a chocker necklace and a pair of boots.

3. A denim mini dress has also gained popularity this summer styled with a pair of thin heels.

Evening Outfit
1. The lacy off-the-shoulder dress with elasticated neckline and long sleeves would be a perfect summer evening dress choice styled with heels and a long necklace or chandeliers earrings.

2. For a pop of color, make an appearance in a little red ruffle dress or a longer retro-style design. I usually prefer gold accessories with red. Opt for long earring with wavy hairstyle for a romantic and feminine look.

3. A black off-the-shoulder dress is always classic with a strand of white pearls.
This is how I styled my afternoon-then-to-evening look. I opted for an off-the-shoulder mini-denim dress with a new pair of Dolce and Gabbana Sandals. What I love about this denim dress is that it’s lightweight, soft, comfortable, relax-fit and just goes perfectly with the sandals! I styled my hair to one side with a cute butterfly hair accessory and my red Chevron chanel handbag.

This year I’ve been using celebrity’s favorite makeup trend “Upside Down Eye Makeup” and I’m really loving the look. It’s all about smudging metallic colors under the eyes. The key to pulling off this trend is to make sure the pop of color you choose under your eye {whether it’s a pencil or a shadow}, is in harmony with the rest of your makeup, particularly blush and lip color. In my case it’s Rasberry Shimmer … Muah! ?. Let me know if you have a current favorite make up trend. My in-laws were in town that weekend. We all went out to the strip for a bit of shopping and then followed by a dinner at an Italian restaurant. It was a pleasant evening catching up with the family and staying connected. So, there was really no need for me to change outfits since the denim dress that I wore was a perfect look for day and evening time.
